before the physical death
in the dissolution of a dream
in the passing of a loved one
at the hands of a lover
yet with each spring
life is renewed
in the same place
it collapsed
from the source
that is Eternal

the leaves dance
in the autumn wind
falling
weightlessly
as if
in a trance
gently reminding me
it is not death
that I should fear
but celebrate spring
that never fails
to keep its promise
whisperings

of leaves
I hear you
in stillness
I feel
you persist
here
never too far
between
my breath
and heartbeat
hidden yet visible
you tease
often playing
hide and seek
come close
sit with me
be mine,
my perfect bliss
reticent reverie
come to me
not as a wild thought
a forgotten image
or a transient feeling
not as the wave
that returns
after kissing the shore
not as light
that trickles
through the leaves
on a sunny day

or absence
but as the coolness of sand

divine ushering
take me to the place
where peaceful waters flow
where rain glistens on the leaves
a cool, gentle breeze blows
where the keys unlock
unleashing pure understanding
appealing to my parched senses
giving each breath, a new meaning
take me to that shore far away
where rapture and love washes the sand
with each crashing wave
where hopeful hours and innocent kisses
fill a careless day
with you, take me to the heights
where we can soar
