the calling
You are
with me
within me
every second
of every moment
Yet, I live the truth
of ‘You’ away from ‘I’
Yet I feel
this intense separation
from home
Like an unborn child
pulled away
from womb
Like the thirsty desert
that longs for rain,
an affliction
with no remedy for pain.
Sleepless at night
restless for days
Beloved, your memory
stirs me awake.
My trembling lips
heaped with sighs,
endless tears, in your name
are now running dry.
Without you, my essence,
how am I
to stay alive?
Calling out
my entire being
leaps,
gasping
for a breath ..
I miss you.
Take me home.

Hauntingly beautiful Himani. The desires of the heart laid bare…and known because we have each been there and know its pain. Mark

Dear Himani,
We have missed you :).
And what a fitting post this is, speaking to our constant, seemingly unmet, longing for the Real. Separated from it never, and yet, as you express so powerfully here, we
f-e-e-l separated.
Sometimes the agony of seeming separation is so intense that all we can do is utter the last lines of this beautiful prayer you’ve shared:
I miss you.
Take me home.
The accompanying art so wonderfully matches the poem.
Thank you for this creation.
All good wishes,
robert

Dearest Robert,
.. and I’ve missed you! Your lovely presence here puts a big smile on my face always :)) Thank you so much for those kind words, appreciate them.
Life has kept me very occupied lately and it doesn’t seem like it’ll change anytime soon with the way classes are scheduled here at the med school. But.. I keep the love, remembrance and thought burning in my heart.. when the Beloved wills, a verse or two comes gushing out. Wrote an exam today and had some free time, so thought I’d share 🙂
How is life on your end? Enjoying the blossoms of the spring yet? 🙂 Hows your beautiful daughter?
My love and warmest regards always, stay blessed 🙂

Dear Himani,
We can relate to life keeping us occupied. I stay very busy with work.
It’s clear, from the gems which manifest from you (poetry, music, art), that love and remembrance remain in your heart, even though outward conditions may demand you elsewhere. That’s such a gift.
Life is good. It does indeed feel like spring here in the last week :-). It’s so very nice to be outside, feet on the earth, the big blue sky overhead, in the warmer spring air. .
My beautiful daughter will be driving by the end of next month. This is a big step for her. Perhaps for me as well :-).
Even when studies keep you away from here for some time, you’re always remembered.
All good wishes to you,
robert

Thank you dear Brad 🙂 I pray you’re keeping well. After writing an exam today I thought I’d share some of the writing.
And nah this isn’t my imagination, its my life.. I live this everytime when the Beloved calls. Sometimes, what is felt, finds words.. and at other times, it all sinks back into the abyss of silence.
