summer
lover
in your presence
look what have I become –
a lunatic fool
writing love letters
to existence
sublime
moments melt
like memories
on our lips
as we lie together
sipping warm sunshine
freedom
we chase
in holy mischief
butterflies
on a gentle breeze
giggles and laughter
amid songs of bees
like children
lost in time
•◦•
I am not sure
what I love
more –
you
or the fact
that maybe
that maybe one day
when the stars align
when the angels plead
you will come
and sit beside me
you’ll sit
till words cease to flutter
from our lips
till the silence
quietly slides
nudging you gently
to lie next to me
and we’ll watch
the clouds float by
hear the leaves gently rustle
to the songs of existence
in the warm summer sky
you’ll lie down
and you’ll teach me
what love is
all over again
till the stars fade
and the sun rises
with every sunset
every glowing sunrise
you’ll show me
the divinity
in your embrace
the devouring memory
in your touch
reminding me of home
just like you did
just like you did
as the summer flowers
spring blossoms
and autumn rains
we’ll seize moments
to gaze into the Eternal
to our heart’s content
slip into our space
tending to ineffable treasures
that lie hidden
underneath
there we will lie
for timeless decades to come
feeding our souls
confounded by love
comforting our hearts
trembling with delight
