That was a beautiful Haiku? I just started with writing this type of poetry. Thought it would be boring at first and now I´m addicted to it. It all started because of a contest, and for he wanted it to be 17 syllables in total and 5-7-5 plus imaginary and juxtapostiton. But have read a bunch of other haiku´s and it doesn´t seem anybody does that. I counted here 3-4-3. So since you seem to be the expert and if you have time to answer, is there a specific format, and what is the most aspect of the haiku that is given more importance?
Thanks a lot Charly 🙂 To be very honest, I don’t follow any rules while writing. Not even one piece of writing here has been written with a specific format in mind. I share what flows, in the most raw form. I wish I could help you but I am afraid I am not the best person to ask 😦
I’d suggest to look under Haiku in the Reader and get in touch with people who follow specific forms if you’re so inclined. I’m sure theres someone out there with more experience and knowledge on this format. Thank you for stopping by though, wishing you the best 🙂
Reminds me of the famous movie scene from the Godfather: “Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.” (Let me explain… 🙂 ) Both start with a command. Your poem downshifts and grabs another gear, trading one level of meaning for another, only it turns the movie scene inside out by moving into deeper contact, by approaching rather than retreating, bringing us closer to the heat. Lovely!
