deeper knowing

counting
each pearl
I remember
what I had
what I have been given
your grace
infinite

often lost in you
I find my value
sifting through sands of time
ages lived
hours forgotten
swept in your tide

memories of love
spiral up
painting the sunset skies
awakened
by your whisper
even in waking
my dreams take flight

who am I
scattered stardust
a grain of sand
or a filament
just a filament
flickering in your light?

wonderful – thank you for sharing your words. i came to this category first, because i have a deep heartfelt appreciation for Sufism. Hafiz is my favorite poet and although i love the poetry of all mystical traditions, something about Sufism touches my heart and holds my soul in particular. i think it may be how the words and phrases so perfectly express our intimacy with the divine. your words do indeed belong with them, thank you for sharing 🙂 be well, peace ~j

Of all the wonders, what is it that draws one’s attention specifically? Something catches one’s eye in a mysterious manner.

    Dear Himani,

What a very lovely poem. And the young lady, sitting at the sacred border between ocean and shore, evokes what the poem does…connection. Sand, foam, water, lady, light…all together.

    Often lost in you,
    I find my value…

    What a lovely, meditative verse.

    Thank you so much.

    All good wishes,

    robert
