glowing embers

Posted on Updated on

Beloved
give me a sip
of your flaming wine
consume me in your Love
intoxicated in you
I have come alive

with every bead
kohl stains, tears stream
from these tiny eyes
dreaming to behold
your beautiful face
they long to see your Light

my heart has grown weary
of looking for love
bleeding, it crumbles
revealing the subtle Truth
that quietly rests inside

Beloved
give me another sip
of your flaming wine
show me the way
to the tavern
or let me be annihilated
here, on your sacred shrine

Woow I loved your poem, I was wondering where were you from ? 🙂 I’ve been to Rumi museum in Konya/Turkey which is the center of the Sufi philosophy and I am impressed to see someone who is very into this peaceful philosophy ! Good job Himani !

It is a huge museum first of all, there were people from all around the world (many Germans and Asians) and the museum is built on the original place where Rumi and his companions lived. There were translators for the foreigners but also the computer devices that translates how the life has been in those ages etc. Great feeling to be there, to see his tomb, his clothes, hand-writings, life style ! I recommend it everyone who is seeking for spiritual peace, and relaxation 🙂

I’m a ridiculously hopeful person. Even after a day where my heart is shattered I wake up the next day and hope for the better. Hope will drive this yearning for as long as it can 🙂

    Dear Himani,

Thank you for this lovely, prayerful poem. It conveys the subtlety of the broken heart being the locus of the Divine.

The conclusion of the poem is lovely in how it communicates such an intense longing.

I very much like the art, the stars overhead, mandala-like, and the dervishes beneath, star-like.

    All good wishes,

    robert
